Terms of Service

Last updated: March 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ComplyZen ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ComplyZen provides automated web accessibility scanning and compliance reporting tools. We scan publicly accessible web pages and generate reports based on WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Our service is a tool to assist with accessibility — it does not constitute legal advice or guarantee legal compliance.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide a valid email address. One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only to scan websites you own or have authorization to scan. You may not:

  • Use the Service to scan websites without the owner's permission
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload the Service
  • Reverse-engineer or extract the source code of the Service
  • Resell access to the Service without written permission
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. Plans and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or quarterly basis. Plan changes take effect immediately. Refunds are provided at our discretion. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

6. Scan Limits

Each plan has a maximum number of pages that can be scanned per run. Free accounts have additional limitations. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that consistently exceed fair usage.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and documentation, is owned by ComplyZen. Scan results and reports generated for your websites belong to you. You may share and distribute your own reports as you see fit.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that scan results are exhaustive, or that following our recommendations will achieve full legal compliance. Accessibility compliance depends on many factors beyond automated testing.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ComplyZen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
